Building Routing Point

This is point data for route search that covers buildings nationwide.
Locations suitable for use as arrival and navigation points are estimated and maintained using our proprietary logic.
Even for buildings without established addresses, it becomes possible to provide more appropriate guidance locations.
It reduces misdirection to the back of buildings and hard-to-reach areas, and is useful not only for car navigation but also for last-mile logistics and delivery.
This can be used in situations where accurate destination guidance is required.

"Building Routing Point" to improve the accuracy of building guidance.

  • This data is compiled using our proprietary logic to analyze the surrounding environment of a building and select points that are more suitable as navigation destinations. We have selected points that are most likely to be located on the front side of the building.
  • Even for buildings without an address, it can provide the appropriate guidance location, enabling highly accurate directions.
  • Points are generated for each building shape and are linked to the building's address data, so they can also be used as route guidance points when searching by address.
*This data does not include building footprint polygons.
It is optional data for use with the "Detailed Map" dataset, which includes building footprint polygons.

Expected usage

  • In car navigation and logistics delivery, guiding users along the road presumably facing the building's main entrance prevents misdirection to back streets or the back of the building, thus facilitating smooth arrival.

  • In building maintenance, meter reading, security, firefighting, and emergency services, guiding personnel to locations near building entrances and exits is expected to prevent arrival delays and shorten response times.

FAQ

What are the benefits of using this data for guiding people to their destinations?

This makes it possible to search for a route with the estimated front side of the building as the destination.
This reduces the possibility of being mistakenly directed to back streets or other areas behind buildings, thereby increasing the reliability of route guidance.

By searching for a route using a point estimated to be located on the front side of the building as the destination, it becomes easier to avoid directing users to the back of the building, leading to improved guidance accuracy and user experience.

Why is it possible to provide directions to buildings that do not have an address?

This data includes individual route search points set for each building shape, allowing the system to identify the appropriate guidance location regardless of whether an address is provided.
