TOA-PMMS Basic is a support tool for the planned and efficient maintenance and management of road pavements.
For local governments that manage roads, and private companies that manage large factories,
We rebuilt the conventional TOA-PMMS using MapDK5, the latest and most reliable map development tool.

TOA-PMMS Basic collects information from road users and residents along the roads on a daily basis, as well as road conditions.
By graphically mapping information necessary for road management, such as construction history, onto a map,
Users can quickly access the information they need, providing a superior user experience.

Please tell me about your implementation track record.

TOA-PMMS has been used by numerous local governments to date.
TOA-PMMS Basic, which is a redesigned version of TOA-PMMS, has received numerous inquiries, primarily from local governments that were using the previous system.
Going forward, we plan to launch full-scale operations and propose our services to local governments such as cities, towns, and villages, which number approximately 1,700 nationwide.

Could you tell me about the distinctive features of the system?

TOA-PMMS Basic includes the following essential information for road management:

① Information regarding requests and reports

You can register requests and reports from road users and residents along the route, information obtained from patrols, and the progress of subsequent on-site investigations and repair work. The list on the left side of the screen allows you to identify the progress using different colors, making it easy to prioritize tasks.
On a map, you can visually understand the overall trends of the managed routes, such as where different types of information are concentrated.

 

② Management of information regarding the condition of the pavement

By registering the measurement results of the pavement condition (degree of cracking, depth of rutting, levelness), the data will be displayed graphically on a map.
The map uses different colors to represent the condition of the road surface, allowing you to see the overall trend at a glance.
On the left side of the screen, the results for the selected route are displayed in a graph, serving as a guide for identifying sections that require repair or sections that will require repair in the future.

Could you tell me why you chose MapDK5?

The previous system utilized MapDK4, but with the reconstruction of TOA-PMMS, we have adopted MapDK5.
At the time, the reason we chose MapDK was that it was easy to build a system with, had a proven track record, and the fact that it would require less development cost compared to using other maps was also an important factor.

What are your plans for the future?

In recent years, a vast amount of roads that were built in the past have been accumulated.
It is extremely important to properly maintain these roads so that they can be used normally.
On the other hand, due to the current severe fiscal situation, public works spending has been decreasing.
Therefore, I believe there is a growing momentum to maintain and manage road pavements more efficiently and rationally, at the right time and in the right way.
